Drilling Groundman Job Description

The Drilling Groundman is in good physical condition and provides support to the driller as required; signals equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement or adjustment of machinery, equipment or materials to ensure timely project completion. The Drilling Groundman follows good work practices and procedures and sets a good example for new crew members and co-workers. The groundman may operate a variety of equipment and instruments, including hand and power tools.

Job Requirments

• Work with the driller operator to drill and install piling systems in accordance with the project specifications
• Assist with equipment inspections and movements
• Perform a variety of general construction work as required on the job site
• Follow all health and safety policies and procedures
• Accept direction from the Lead Driller and from the Field Supervisor and/or Project Manager as required
• Knowledge of construction is required and previous experience in drilling would be an asset
• Be physically fit and hard working
• Have excellent attendance, punctuality and dependability
• Have the interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively on a team
• Be self-motivated, take initiative and be keen to learn new skills
• Have a valid drivers license and access to a vehicle is considered an asset
• Located in the Greater Vancouver area, some out of town work but THIS IS NOT A CAMP JOB
